Being Eco-Friendly

Stairways sustainability

New developments will need to be eco-friendlier to attract buyers

There are many reasons why someone chooses one new-build home over another – location, bedroom size, kitchen spec, garden space, price, and more. But more and more buyers are now choosing new-build homes based on the eco-friendly credentials of the build.

According to a survey undertaken by Redrow Homes, two-thirds of respondents indicated a desire to purchase a sustainable home and 60% stated they would be more likely to buy a new home from a company known for building sustainably.

At Stairways, we are committed to reducing our impact on the environment, while trying to improve it at the same time. We are constantly reviewing and improving our environmental strategies. This includes using sustainable, FSC certified timber for the construction of all our staircases and doors.

Why Eco-Friendly Features Matter

With buyers changing their desired specifications, so should your developments. Whilst sleek design, affordability, and high quality are still top priority, sustainability should be a fixed focus in developments. And buyers’ desire for eco-friendliness will only increase over time as the true effects of climate change are realised.

When buyers see a beautifully designed home with the bonus of being sustainably made, the wow-factor truly shows and stands your development out from the crowd.

Through our door and stairs solutions, Stairways can help you make these small adjustments to become more sustainable.

Expert Design while remaining Eco-Friendly

From the get-go, we have always worked to make sure all of our stairs and doors are designed to be equally eco-friendly while still retaining the “wow” factor we know all our clients want. We are continuously altering our processes and production to have less of a negative impact on the environment, and with these practices and measures in place, we can ensure that each finished product will be a quality, yet eco-friendly, addition to your development.

Being a multi-sited FSC® business, all of our stairs and doors solution use responsibly sourced timber that does not overlook quality.

All of our manufacturing facilities have invested extensively in solar panels, Biomass systems and a recycling programme as part of our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint from a production standpoint. We are continually reviewing our recycling and environmental strategy building on our current investments.

So, if you’re looking to meet your buyers’ eco-friendly requirements, consider eco-friendly staircases and door sets from Stairways.
