Creating high-quality bespoke carpentry for commercial and residential projects. For Stairways, craftsmanship is still an important part of what we do.
It’s not just renewable energy where Stairways Midlands is investing to reduce its environmental impact. Cutting waste is essential to working greener in the 21st Century.
To this end, Stairways has gone out of its way to find ways to recycle the tonnes of plastic waste it has each year, which would previously have gone to landfill.
A lot of this category of waste comes from clear plastic wrapping protecting many of the core products that arrive into the group’s manufacturing facilities. Deciding something positive could be done to help the environment, the business launched a recycling strategy that enables plastic waste to be compacted, discarded safely and recycled.
After investing in a baler, Stairways partnered with Clews Recycling who collect it and take it away for recycling by the tonne.
Neil said: “The key thing here is we are keeping tonnes of rubbish out of landfill each year.”
